October Magic

October was filled to the brim with kitty magic

as you can see from all these pictures

 

 

 

 

There were magical trees

 

 

magical nature hearts

 

 

 

magical flowers

 

 

 

magical sunrises

 

 

even a magical HI in the sky

 

 

I thought this HI might be from van Gogh and

sure enough a week or so later we found the

perfect headboard for our van Gogh bed

 

 

One of the most magical moments for me

was when our dos gatos slept close to

each other for the first time

 

 

This picture was from September but

I saved it until Levi's birthday because one

of his presents was that orange spatula

 

 

Here's what I gave Faith for her birthday

It was so cool seeing Otis on the Rialto stage

singing in the Loveland Opera Theatre Gala

 

 

Remi and I had fun playing

Steven and I went on some magical hikes

 

 

and lots of magical things happened everyday

 

 

I'm so thankful for all the

September Magic

 

 

September has been

a magical month

                                                       

 

 

 

 

One of the coolest things we did was go
to the Krishna Das concert in Estes Park

 

 

 

 

He didn't sing the Hanuman Chalisa
but here is my picture of Hanuman chamisa

The coolest thing we bought in September

was a glass door for the bedroom that we

found at Habitat for $23

 

 

 

One of the biggest changes we made
was to change refrigerators

 

 

 

 

This green one has been in our kitchen
for almost 17 years. We moved it out
and replaced it with a blue one that has
been in our garage for umpteen years

 

 

 

 

 

One day a new bird (pine warbler)
visited me at the waterfall

 

 

 

And one day an elk walked right

by our house but I didn't see it

 

 

 

The most magical thing that happened
in September was when I put lotion on my
hand and it came out in the shape of a heart

 

 

 

 

That's the day I decided not to separate
Minnie Kay and Koyuki anymore

 

 

 

 

 

They are having fun chasing each
other around the house

 

 

 

Koyuki still hisses and growls a lot
but I think she's having a good time

with her cute little sister

 

 

 

 

We saw lots of beautiful golden aspen 

trees in the mountains and this picture

was taken on the Longs Peak Trail

August Magic

 

 

August was a month of incredible changes.
The rattlesnake tried to tell me!

We are now a family of 4!
Because little Minnie Kay
came to live with us.

It all happened like this.
A guy that Steven works with brought
in a little white kitty just 5 weeks old.
Steven took a picture of it and emailed it
to me with this as the subject line

When I saw that I thought what a perfect name.
If we do get a little white kitten we will have
to name her Minnie Kay. We had been thinking
about getting one someday so Koyuki would
have someone to play with when we leave
for a few days at a time. But we didn't go out
looking for one. We figured one would
just show up when the time was right.

Sure enough.
2 days later we drove east of Eaton to look at
the other white kitten in the litter and we
fell in love with her instantly and brought her home.

 

Minnie Kay is 7 weeks old now and doing great.
Koyuki is adjusting. It will take a little while for
her to accept the new kitty but it will happen in time.

 

In fact, Steven and I are writing a song in Spanish
about our 2 white kitties called  Dos Gatos Blancos  

 

Here's the first verse

Tenemos dos gatos blancos
Uno se llama Koyuki y el otro se llama Minnie Kay
Uno pequeno y uno grande
Y esperamos que algun dia se vuelvan amigos

 

Another cool thing that happened was
the article about Dusty in the newspaper
Loveland Man Develops Crystal Activation System

It was cool to see his campaign reach these magic numbers $4,444

And even though he didn't reach his goal
people are still donating and
ordering his beautiful cards

July Magic

 

The magic began by

celebrating the 4th of July

canoeing and kayaking with

Faith and the O's

 

 

 

 

Remi didn't come this time

because the Yurtians were

celebrating Micki's birthday

 

 

 

 

We went hiking on

the Summit Trail and

saw this cool snake

 

 

We went camping in

RMNP and saw our very

first bear's den

 

 

The next week a bear tore one of

our downstairs screens off and must

have come into the house but since

the bedroom door was shut he didn't

find anything interesting and left

 

 

 

 

These sweet twin fawns have

been hanging out in our

Sandalphon Circle

 

 

 

We took a mini-vacation to Wyoming

and  hiked 4 hours in The Snowy Mountain Range

 

then we stayed in Saratoga Springs

and soaked in the hot springs

 

 

The most amazing thing that happened

in July was when a rattlesnake came

to visit and looked in the window

at Koyuki and me

 

 

 

 The next day I sent my very first

email from Mailchimp and it

was all about the rattlesnake

 

 

I've been having fun the whole month of July

helping Dusty with his indiegogo campaign.

He made me part of the team!

 Koyuki now has her litter box out

on the deck and it's called her cat loo

 

 

Another cool thing that happened in July is

that I bought a flute at a garage sale for $20

and I love it so much. My friend Joanna taught

me to play the flute when we were in high school.

I'm having fun learning lots of different kinds of

songs and memorizing them so I can just sit down

anytime and play them and I can play them in the car too

(when Steven is driving) and Koyuki loves to

sit in my lap when I play.

 

 

 

And finally, Oona's birthday is today,

the last day of July. She is 10 years old!

 

 

I'm sooooo thankful for

all the blessings of July!
